During Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur we reach such lofty heights of Teshuva and Tefillah and we feel so close to Hashem...and then we go back to our regular lives. One piece of advice given to retain that lofty level is to make a kabbalah (promise or habit) of something you are going to do this year without compromise.
Our holy Rebbes teach, the smaller and more simple the kabbalah the better! This way you know you will for sure be able to keep it. And in most cases 1 kabbalah becomes 1.5 and then keeps growing.
